That's Michelin Pilot Sport 2 (NOT the cup) vs the road Corsa on the Mk2 GT3/RS.. .. Anyone got any views on their relative road and track performance and durability (wet performance etc). More importantly which tyres are more critical (i.e let go faster with less warning).

Thanks!

I've run both MPS2s and Corsa Systems on my GT3 before. I'm currently running MPS2s through the winter season and had them on for both Brands GP and Bedford in the wet, including travelling up the M40 when it was flooded a few weeks ago.

MPS2s were remarkably good in the cold/damp weather at Brands, and they were better clearing the standing water (no problem with the recent deluge). They also break more gradually with plenty of notice.

Corsa Systems have significantly higher levels of grip in the damp (not standing water) but it's hard to get warmth into them in such cold conditions. If it's warmer and damp, I'd go with Corsa Systems. If it's cold and wet, I'd go with MPS2s.

I rate the MPS2s quite highly as an all round tyre.

If you are going to track the the and want a good all rounder, go for the Corsa. If you are not taking the car on the race track, the Michelin is a great all rounder
