Anyone know of any software that will take CCTV footage (stills or video) and on request send it to a GSM based phone via GPRS. I am aware of the 3G stuff and also that alot of companies provide a "hosting" facility for a small fee, but I was wondering how to do this myself via a PC and broadband if possible.

Have a look at Geovision.

They do a great home CCTV system that you can connect to the internet. If you then have a fixed ip address and a GPRS / G3 phone you could dial in to it and see the pics from there.

alternatively shout Plotloss - he is one of the installers we supply, he should certainly be able to help you out.

Thanks for the info Chris. Can you explain a little further as to how you would get your GPRS phone to talk to a static IP address - I guess you would need some back end software / security and then get it to present the pictures for upload. Any ideas on software that can do this ?? Appols for all thw questions - not that familar with GPRS

Thanks,
James...

This software sets up a webserver on your PC, so with your internet enabled phone you can just connect to your webserver and see the images just like any other website.

I'm sure it also has a mobile phone mode of some kind, but i'm not in front of my server at the moment so i can't confirm that just yet.
