I suppose this question has been asked a thousand times but you guys could still help.
I have £15k burning a hole and want a Cerbera. Any tips on what to look out for. I know it needs air con and the clutch has a 25Kish life. Anything else? Also I live in Yorkshire and there may be someone out there who may be looking to part with their pride and joy.

I would probably snap this one up and then put it in for a service and rad work, price genuinely reflects his need to sell and it is a bloody steal at this money. Not local to you but worth the travel time.

Squeezy Jet to Gatwick, where Rob could meet you, take you for a test drive, then you could drive it home 
Im sure you could, for a small fee, get Rob to drive it litteraly round the corner to Austecs and stick it up on their ramps to have a look (or bigger fee get them to inspect it/report on it?)

I havent been messed around at all. And yes, the ad is not very welcoming, was written that way intentionally. from what I gathered when it came time to sell a performance car, the phone rings itself off the hook with canvassers, opportunists and joyriders wanting to come round and see it, have a go themselves, before returning home to "think about it" I mean short of saying he has a pointy stick for anyone who doesn't measure up to a dress code. So far, thats not been the case. Except for one opportunist Its a fantastic car, worth a lot more than Im letting it go for, hence the price.
I go on holiday for 3 weeks in 6 days. Im really busy, and simply dont have time to "discuss possibilities" or provide test drives unless buyers are serious.
In my mind, either a buyer has cash ready, decides he wants it, is able to agree a sale provisionally, and then brings a mechanic and some cash down to do the deal, providing the car is described as seen, and it meets his approval. Thats how I bought both my TVR's.
I dont have time to make it to austec, not this year anyway. Although buyers would be more than welcome to bring a mechanic to my place to poke around and check that it is ok
re: what to look out for, give me a ring and I'll go through the £6k Ive spent maintaining it in the last 23 months, and answer any questions you may have. The 6k doesnt include things like a new clutch, starter motor, etc which were done under warranty. There was a good thread (was a sticky here for a while iirc) on what to look out for, im sure a search would turn up some results.

Nothing wrong with that ad.Its to the point and fair.For anyone thats tried to sell a car and to put up with tyre kickers,test pilots,call them what you will, and to the point where people will make an arrangement to come and see the car and not turn up which pisses me off no end,then this ad,s spot on.

Too right. I found mine, viewed (200 miles away I might ad) was driven in the car, arranged the cash, arranged delivery. All within a week.
Someone who wants it and knows how to spot a good cheap car will snap it up at that price direct advert wording or not.
Just a bloody shame it came up this year rather than last year as I'd have popped down the road with some cash already.

Nah I read that as someone whose heart doesn't really want it to go, but his heart says yes
I looked at three local cars. One from a local garage, one from autotrader and one from a PH'er. The PH car was the one I bought, the best looked after, the best colour combination for me. You've also got the added advantage of search of a users ID to check out the history of the car.
Edit: meant to say - do it, you won't be disappointed.
Every morning I get my motorbike out the garage for the daily commute and still looking at the Cerbera in the garage starts the day with a smile.

I'm looking for a Cerb now but I'm put off by adverts like UKBob's (no offence intended).
I consider myself "serious" about buying a Cerb. I have travelled significantly over 250 miles **twice** to view cars, including today - a day when I ought to have been working, and I've another to look at on Sunday which will involve another 250 mile round trip. And I've my eye on a 4th which again will require significant travel.
**This** is my credability - my willingness to take a day out of my life to go and view, not my providing proof of ability to pay-up. I simply will not do that. I won't be interviewed as a potential candidate to buy the car.
I do my homework on these cars. These forums are great for pulling out a semblence of the car's history, so I go armed with items I wish to look at which is the point of the viewing isn't it? I'm not going to make my mind up about a purchase at the viewing. I need to go home and weigh the car up against the others I'm looking at. Each car has pros and cons. As sellers, are you only interested in seeing people who have already decided they want your car? I suspect this cuts down on the numbers of people looking. If that's the intention then fine, and I applaud the motive.
Incidentally, I saw a lovely one today. Another lovely one. They all are. It was a later model with the low profile windscreen roll cage bar. It was the first of that type I've seen and it was a revelation. It has completely different pros and cons to the one I viewed on Saturday which has left me with a whirl of conflicting feelings about both. The one I'm scheduled to view on Sunday may, if everything I've read is true, knock everything else into a cocked hat but it was important for me to view the others to have something to compare it against.
This is not intended to have a go at sellers. Far from it. I'm just trying to put a face to the sort of people that are looking to buy. We're not all joyriding idiots but reading some ads makes me wonder whether my "serious" enquiry will be viewed as such by some sellers, and where I'm not sure, I don't apply.

Funny, I was just looking at the power chart you posted on another thread, and was about to reply "OK, you've twisted my arm".
You are going about buying a Cerb exactly the right way. Picking out a few that you like the sound of from the ads, then viewing them all. The only dilema you'll have is selecting the right one, especially as both of your viewings so far have been pretty positive.

Yep agreed, a barry chav type called about mine and I ended up asking him more questions about his knowledge of Cerbs than he asked me about the car, he didn't have a clue about Cerbs but was fascinated about how much power it had and how fast it was!! It's a Cerb...they are all fast full stop except for a certain yellow one . I didn't give him the opportunity to come and test drive it.
