The kids are set up on their computers as limited users and I have a passworded login with Administrator status.

Is it possible for the administrator to stop the limited accounts from accessing certain programs? I want to install a little monitoring program, but I don't want them to access it aswell.

You could install it and then take the program shortcut out of the 'All Users' Start Menu/Programs folder and put it in the 'Administrator's'.
Wouldn't stop them running it if they found the shortcut on your HDD but at least they wouldn't see it in their program menu - so if they didn't know it was installed.............

You can change the file permissions on the program so that only certain users have access to it.

XP Home or Pro? (its easier on pro, a bit hardcore on home)

I think it's pro, never really took much interest in what version I was running

In that case go to 'my computer', view, folder options, untick 'use simple file sharing'

then find the folder that contains the program you want to restrict access to

right click, properties, security

Change it so that only 'administrators' has access to it.
