CHEAP SPEED 6!!

Hi boys and girls; don't usually visit the Cerbera pages as I'm an old Wedger!
I've just bought a Speed 6 in Crimson red pearl, 99T, 45000 miles, two invoices for top end rebuild and then a block! Service history,18 inch wheels, sports exhaust etc!
I'm in the car trade but haven't really got a clue what it's worth although I now own it!
Give me an idea please!!

Tricky one with the SpeedSix's, if I was buying it would depend on who did the rebuilds, how long ago and if it was to an updated spec. As a shot in the dark I would imagine you are looking at about £15k for a retail sale, less if you are selling it on a private basis.

£15k for a 99 would be more like V8 price. I think £10k-£12k would be more likely for a Speed 6. Bear in mind you can get Tamoras for <£17k now

but bear in mid the latter does not mention a rebuild and has no Spiders. Top one is probable overpriced so went somewhere in the middle - it was as I say a bit of a shot in the dark.
Yes private sale will be less but £2-3k spread is quite common is it not so £12-13 private.

You will struggle to 'trade' it.
I would guess that the miles will put people off, and the colour is harder to shift. I would guess you would get £14K on a forecourt but 9 - 10K private.

I am a used car dealer (honest, though nobody will believe that!!) but sadly I love TVR's hence a 350i, 420 SEAC and this Cerbera. Sounds wrong to say it but I wouldn't even contemplate retailing a TVR so I end up collecting them!!

Don't these cars reach a critical stage where the person who could afford (at a pinch) to buy an S6 engined TVR not afford a costly engine rebuild, thereby making them pretty hard to shift?

I do, however, note that this car has had engine work......how much do you want for it?

You lot are starting to worry me now! This car had a top end (new cams etc) by Peninsula in Jan 2004 at a cost of £2876.33 and then another rebuild with a 'speed 6 tech' supplied short motor by Dulford Automotive in September 2005. I've got all MOT's and service history and fancy having a play in it (hopefully without blowing it up!) In reality the old 350i can stay regardless, but either the SEAC or this little gem will have to go!!

As you trade cars you should know that it's only worth what someone is willing to pay. Just hope you got it cheap enough.
