Evening everyone.... firstly thanks to previous posters for the info on replacing the clutch slave cylinder bow

After spending most of last night after work out in the rain and cold removing the old cylinder (could they make the top bolt harder to get to?) I've a thought/question...

The cylinder is held to the mounting plate byt two nut & bolts (is this the same on everyones?). The problem i had was holding the bolt still while undoing the nut, seeing as its all now off ready to be put together again i was thinking, is it a good idea to weld the bolts to the mounting plate? Or is this a very bad idea? Then it would be much easier to tighten / loosed in the future (its a TVR after all!)

Would appreciate the thoughts of those of you far more experienced / intelligent / sensible than me.

Thanks in advance,
Matt

After replacing my cylinder, I don`t see any reason why it should come off again, if you feel a little welding job may make it easier in the future, then why not.

Guess it would depend on how easy it is for you to weld the parts? I've replaced mine but left the bits as they were and I'm just relying on exercising the clutch pedal regularly even when the car is off-road for winter. Seeing as the previous one lasted 15 years, I hope I won't be swapping this one soon!
