Has anyone come across this one before...

I was having my car MOT'ed yesterday afternoon. No sooner had the car been driven to the testing bay when I noticed the passenger side indicators were on (not even flashing). Went over to see what was going on, couldn't get the things to switch off... The bleepy alarm noise (that you get when you indicate for example) was constantly going when the ignition was on and a few other funny things (such as the Hazard lights wouldn't work)...

This obviously caused a problem for the MOT... Tried everything to get them to switch off, no joy though.... I got the guy to finish the MOT thinking it would sort itself out and I could just pop back and get a re-test... Sure enough, whilst I was paying for the MOT it magically sorted itself out... The fella (who had helped me loads, and stayed late to do so) then issued the MOT cert.

I thought it might be a parking light, not even sure if T350's have such things (would'nt have thought so)... Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem... If i'd been away somewhere in it, could have really been a problem. Not sure how long the battery would last with three indicators stuck on overnight!!!

I love TVR ownership! Never a dull moment hehe

Howdy

I had a similar problem (I think!) well not so much had, as still have. My problem is that when I set/unset the alarm the indicator lights on one side stay lit. Im may case it is the right hand side. If I failed to notice this when unlocking the car and started the engine I too got a high pitch indicator warning with the green dashboard light remainimg lit.

I was advised that it may be something to do with water getting into the passenger footwell as that is where the alarm circuits are situated. When I pulled the carpet up and looked the footwell was indeed very wet!

I still get this occasionally and think that this water is the cause because when it has been dry the car locks / unlocks fine and the indicators flash as normal, but after heavy rain it can rear its ugly head again

Usually locking then unlocking the car a few times solves the problem. I intend to have it looked at when the car is in for it's next service.

Hope this has been of some use.

Cheers - Rippers

Thanks for the info.

I did take a look in that area (only to find a loose electrical box, possibly the alarm!) but didn't really check to see if there was moisture there... I'll have a proper look over the weekend.

Just picked up some Tax today so its all back on the road again! bounce
