just to clear everything up

hi everybody,

just thought i would reply to an earlier post on here by mr tank stating my car which i have for sale is bag of nails,its the car he refers to owning for 5 hours and taking it back because it was rubbish,

yes it was rubbish when i bought it,however i have spent a considerable amount of money and time repairing it,

i have my own garage and some of the work was done in house,

firstly the cheap respray refered to cost over 1500 quid and is perfect,

the glass which had the same stickers on that mr tank had when he owned it for '5' hours where still on in the photos,the glass i had remanufactured and is all new,

the wheels i had restored and are as good as new if not better,

the engine had the most expenditure including,

all new gaskets,injectors,top end rebuild and is faultless i have reciepts for everything done on the car,and am frankly offended that this guy was allowed to slag off my car on here,

the body was lifted off the chassis and the chassis was re waxoiled and inspected for damage,i replaced the suspension with spax suspension and replaced the other bushes for poly ones,

the engine has been fully serviced and tuned and is running perfect,

offended is not the word really,i have myself owned tvr's for over twenty years and currently own 4 including a sagaris and a cerbera 4.5

just thought i would post something to set the record straight

i guess i must be quick if i managed to do this in six or so weeks?!!!

i dont want to get involved in this disagreement, just wish you well with the sale of the car. the work you've done sounds good to me but i'm in no position to buy another one personally i dont think you'll get very close to your asking price but i sincerely hope you do as it would mean the market place is improving for sellers.

Is there anyone reputable that could have a look at the car and "rubber stamp" your claims? Im thinking maybe asking the opinion of someone like Austec to have a look / TVR Car Parts etc. Then you can direct potential buyers to the third party for a honest impartial opinion and beable to quash being badmouthed in the future?

(im not saying your car isnt in tip top shape, but playing devils advocate, if you could substantiate your claims though an independant third party, your case is rock solid)

i would be more then happy to have the car checked out by anyone suggested even to the point of having it transported to the relevant parties

just to prove the bag of nails comment isnt true!

glad to see their are some 'proper' entusiasts on here!

Glad you have stepped forward and had your say, felt it a little unfair that comments were being made but you hadn't yet responded. Also good that you're more than happy to get it inspected by whoever somebody chooses.

well the truth be known i am a tvr entusiast,they all have their foibles dont they?

i just thought it unfair that my car was being ripped to bits by someone that had travelled from down south to buy it,bought it took it back after 5 hours as maybe the work was to much for the guy in question to complete??!!

was their ever a perfect tasmin????

i think even from new they had their 'moments'!

very strange that it isn't allowed to name and shame, but when it's about a private person, no action is undertaken by the moderator. why didn't you ask them to remove the topic ?
anyway, good luck with the sale, whatever the condition is
