You really have got hold of the Ultima thing, with an Ultima you must drive flat out, long straight highways like yours need 200 mph cars on them, it just wouldn't be right to do less, in fact it would be a crime.
If you obey this simple rule from your mother country you have cruise control already fitted as standard.
"Put the foot to the floor until you see the Atlantic shore"

I must say that when I was building my can-am I considered cruise control to be a vital requirement.
However I never found anything suitable to fit and since driving the car I have found that its not the kind of car you acidentaly speed in.
I think its a combination of sound, feedback and excitement that keeps you fully aware of what speed you are doing.
Its only really an issue when you are just cruising anyway as if you put your foot down you will be speeding almost instantly anyway.

When I originally posted this topic, it was tongue in cheek mainly to get a humourous response (thanks Brad), but on the serious side, with our long open stretches here, and the blatantly attractive appearance of the car to the law, cruise control is really not that bad an option if you think you can pack enough for a long trip that might require a cruise control.
Which brings up the topic of "Pulling a trailer with the Ultima"!!!!
