fuel pump relay an inertia switch?

On the side of the road, can't see no fuel pump noise and behaving as if out of fuel, can't find the fuel pump relay in the hand book or the bible, also where is the inertia switch, 96 Griff 500

The Inertia button is behind the glove box. Open the box and fell over the top ( mine is about center) You should feel a rubbery covered push button ( which really doesnt feel like you have pressed it but it does work)

I would bet on the relay though. Think its one of the Metal ones, try swapping it with the other metal one to test.

ok no joy pressing the inertia switch, is the fuel pump relay one of the two metal ones on flying leads? tried swapping those, no cigar, aa have recovered the car to a relatives house in Henley, going to come back in the morning to take it to Henley TVR, chap reconed it was the fuel pump but didn't test it, anything else I'm missing?

Yes one of the ones on the flying lead. Does the alarm sem to be working ok as this can cut the fual pump supply too. Has the car got wet inside recently? can cause probs. There are conectors behind the passenger side Door pillar. these can corrode and cause probs. Can you get to the fuel pump ( behind nearside wheel0 and test for any voltage at all?


If its going to Henley anyhow, I am sure they will Know what to do and find it quick enough.

Fuses?

If you're stuck, take a fused 12V straight from the battery to the pump and this will get you home. That eliminates a whole host of potential problems in the fuel pump supply, and lets you rule out more general problems with the ignition system, engine running signal or ECU.

Thanks for all your help guys, turned out to be a broken wire to the fuel pump, Henley sorted it in double quick time despite being booked solid, cheers Richards.
