E30 fault - Help

Hi,

Ive got an E30 which is reving really high on idle. Its fine in gear and driving but when you come to a stop the revs go through the roof. I can't say how high its reving to as the rev counter doesn't work (It is 20 years old).

Any ideas?

sounds like an air leak or a dodgy ICV - or the injection system needs a good clean... i.e. the throttle body etc


spray some carb cleaner around the area and see if the revs rise.
