Anyhow! Im doing the lots of work over winter and going to do the bushs as i havent done these, so its a minimum of 6 six years since they were changed including storage time!

Are these the ones to get?

I dont know which ones i need..one of each part (obviously not each variety, just the right ones!)

I heard someone mention something throgh my wedge career about different ones...

Any ideas fellas? Wanna get these ordered so christmas time is play time!!

I put poly bushes on the rear of my FHC A frame wedge, and apparently it knackered the hub carriers. RT recommend solid nylon type bushes. The originals are a pig to install, and cost a fortune, if you can get hold of them.

Cheapest way is to buy some Delrin rod (or some other suitable engineering grade of Nylon) and get it turned down to size.
Then get some stainless sleeves made to fit in the centre. I've fitted the RT ones to the outer ends of the A frame and they were easy to fit but very expensive (considering the material costs and machining time involved). Ride quality if fine but it will be interesting to see what affect changing the inner ones has.
Chris at www.centergravity.co.uk/ recommends always using standard bushes as the suspension is all carefully designed by people who know better than we do and who spend more time doing RND than the aftermarket boys. I'm inclined to agree on something developed with modern computer modeling but the Wedges were probably lucky if they got a slide rule waved in their direction.

RT will tell you to fit metalastic (I think thats how you spell it) He gave me a good bolliking when I said I wanted to fit poly to my 400 Give Richard a bell 0114 2817507 I have a set of 8 poly things for the rear, I think I may stick em on ebay

I got me an RT one to play with, and I don't think it is nylon, but a more clever plastic. Nylon doesn't seem like a good idea, as it can absorb 20% of its own weight in water, which could cause the suspension to lock up in the wet. I reckon it is either PEEK or delrin. Of course I thought PolyUrethane bushes were a good idea once too, so I obviously don't know anything! I looked into having some tuffnol/molybdenen ones made, but after set-up costs you'd need to make about 50 to get to the price RT are selling them for, and you know the RT ones are gonna work.

When I had my bushes replaced on the 450i, I got polybushes from TVR Car Parts:

They did the job just fine.

I had the front diff carrier bush made up of this and it seems fine, but I guess suspension is a different ball game all together.
