Out in the saggy this morning - at the petrol station - put on hand brake - no problem -
filled up with petrol.... started up , went to release handbrake and... wouldn't release!!!!
fortunately not very good hand brake and was able to limp home, but handbrake is still up with the silver push button jammed inside hand brake

any suggestions????? apart from dont use the hand brake!

Did you try reversing a little bit, this will normally unlock the hand brake/pads. But I must admit its very unusual for the arm not to release.

Happens on my t350 a bit, usually giving the handle a bit of a tap/knock sideways gets the button to pop out.

Andrew,

Exact same thing happened to me in my T350C back in May. Low loader to dealer who diagnosed a jammed ratchet. Easily replaced, part was about £30 plus an hour's labour.

The button gets stuck inside my Tamora handbrake. First happened when i went to collect it from a service (12k miles less than 2 years old). The solution was to give the handbrake a pull sideways. I have to give it a pull towards me every time just to get the warning light to go off. Its just one of those little niggles everyone talks about.

Unscrew the button and squirt WD40 down the barrel to free up the mechanism.
