I had a lovely large image of the white version shown a while back at some show - beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
Don't know what I've done with it though. I hope I haven't deleted it.
Sadly that silver one looks very ordinary, even with the 19's. Nice, but just don't look like 19's.

The white one was just a concept at the British motor show.

White CTR concept pics here...

Its a shame their not going to offer it in white, it does look good.

Does Type-R look good in any other colour BUT white?
Even black looks only acceptable.

sad isnt it, how the Type-R brand is now just a gimmick to increase sales?

it seems they are no longer interested in it being a proper driving tool, rather just another luxo hatch with all the trimmings.

i really hope they do release a proper R version(lightweight, lsd, bit more power and hydraulic p/s).

Bit like what VW did to the GTi by the looks of it. Only took them another revision or two before they (somewhat) returned it to its' roots.
The ironic thing is though, have a look at the Accord Euro-R (hardly recognisable as a 'luxury' car), it's very spartan.
As much as I agree with you, I have to say I honestly believe the European (if not just the UK) marketplace has moved on though. Everyone wants their toys, probably since they'll have less chances to play with the engine the way this country's going by this and successive governments.

Interesting take seeing as nobody outside Honda has driven the thing.. Is the new one really that rubbish to drive then Stew because you appear to have advanced knowledge?

Personally I'm going to wait until I've actually driven the thing before I agree with your "prediction" rolleyes

The engine has got the same power output as the EP3, the weight will be around about the same as the EP3 the level of toys have increased if you get the satnav/btooth dual zone A/C. 19" wheels offer slower accelaration, so did stew really make a daft comment? I don't think so.

The DC2 was a stripped out R and was a drivers car, the EP3 was a good hot hatch.....I had one for 2 years and loved every minute....but the new car needs more to stay in the game with the rivals out there at the moment.

It doesn't really take a genius to work out that Honda is on dodgy ground!!
The engine has a whopping 1 PS more (and probably something like an extra 10 lb/ft of torque) but the car, even without toys is around 70kg heavier. It has even shorter gearing in an attempt to hide the weight, rather than an increase in power (even JDM spec would be ok). It also has an inferior rear suspension to the outgoing version to join the dodgy front end. Plus, front doors back it's ugly.
It could hae been a contender but everything that's come out so far suggests that it's not and is veering away from a real Type R.

Ha Haaaaaa! Found it!

Those wheels are the mutt's......and the wing mirror indicator is reversed. Like the concept's better, dunno why. Just looks better I think.
Even with the reduced acceleration and whatnot, I think if they had done it like this, period, then they'd be forgiven for making it less focused as an out and out driver's car.
