Re-covered my dash and moved a couple of dials around, put an extra oil light in and now my left indicator doesn't work confused Now I know that nobody can answer whats gone wrong from that but my question is this - if a relay buzzes when a switch is put on what does this mean ?? If I put the right indicator on it works, if I put the left indictor on the relay makes a buzz, if I put the hazard warning light on the relay makes a buzz confused Had it working a minute ago but when I went to put all the dash back in and check it it was back to making a buzzing noise.

Have a dislodged a wire somewhere ?? Bad earth ?? What do you reckon ??

Any advice appreciated.........

I suspect the warning light supply is shorted to earth i.e. you have trapped it when replacing the dash. The buzzing is the relay drawing way more current than it should.

I would suggest the current is low therefore not holding the relay in (Poor earth).

I'll see your low current and raise......

No seriously the problem came after the dash fitting so logic says it is dash related. If the dash turn indicator lamp was not earthed the indicators would still work but the dash light would not. Hence my suggestion of a short.

Put the top and bottom of the steering column cowling back on and hey presto.......it didn't !! As its dark when I leave home in the morning and dark when I get home it'll have to wait until next weekend before I can fiddle some more........thanks for the replies, theres some sort of bad earth/short/dodgy connection/trapped wire in that there dash somewhere.........
