Just wondering if anyone ever managed this sort of mpg? Is it possible? Mine showing it after couple of thousand miles done over the last few weeks and I'm amazed as wasn't trying to drive it gently! It's now done 50,000 and is 3 years old

lucky b@ggarhehe

Mines still in the teens and im not the thrashing sort.

(That reminds me...must try the 'leaving the back seats down thingy to increase the sound from the exhausts')

Yes 27/28 was constantly returned by our old M3.

It is the one car that I really regret selling. It's replacement was a C220 CDI and it only ever managed to return about 32 MPG.

Yes. I used to get 20 - 23 generally but 27 - 29 on a longer run (e46 M3).

I probably see an average of around 22 mpg in mine, and upto 29-30 mpg on a long run keeping it under or around 80 mph. In times of short journeys or empty roads I have seen as little as 17 mpg average, but that's to be expected.

Used to get very low 30's in my CSL when observing legal limits on a run...

The CSL reguarly returned late twenties most of the time.

When it was driven in anger around the track - It could consume over 3/4 of a tank of Super-Unleaded in about 75 miles....

Enjoy

I got an average of 26 out of mine over 2,100 miles to the South of France and back the long way round, 2 adults 3 kids + top box.

The 535 this year managed 32 with a similar load which makes the M3's performance look even better.

However the kids did not whine so much.

I'm currently seeing around 23mpg from mine- and range of about 280-290 miles between fill-ups. Can get this to around 320-330 if i'm really careful on a long run...but what's the fun in that?!

I get 14mpg from my 330. When I break my M 'cherry' I'm hoping for single digit figures!

Yes 28-30 on a run around 80-85 mph, pretty incredible really for what it is, usual average mid 26's though
