As long as they are not part of an application you really need, then yes, you can delete them..

What .exe's are we talking about here?

You CAN delte tehm no matter what they're part of, so long as they're not in use at the time. Whether it's a good idea is another matter, would need to know what the problam is and with what. Corrupted exe files sounds like a disk problem.

Yes, something will probably have caused the executable to become corrupt; either disk problems, file system problems, virus or... if it's something your programming... you stuffed your code up.

However selecting the exe file and pressing delete (or right clicking and selecting delete from the menu) will kill it off, Windows might moan about it being a necessary executable and it could make things go wrong.

Also, some bloke talking about shark attacks started just speaking the other day and when I looked, I had no programs running. What. The. Fcensoredk

Can you not simply uninstall apps like RealPlayer?

I think yoiu'll find that if you delete the Realplayer exe you'll get loads of errors on startup, as the application is still references in the registry and is looking for the exe that you've deleted.

I really wouldn't recommend deleting random .exes if you don't have a good idea of what the implications are. Particulary stuff like IE.

Your PC doesn't sound very healthy. Do you have anti-virus and anti-spyware protection? If so, have you scanned your PC lately?

It isn't very healthy. It had a cross downloading sesh with a lady computer without using a latex firewall and now it has a dose of the computer clap.

I do have some anti-virus stuff, I just don't know how effecitve it is. I will check and report back sometime.
