just bought a TVR Chimaera ( N reg ). No 2 ( 20 amp fuse ) ECU keeps blowing , which in turn stops the fuel pump running.. If i replace the fuse straight away it blows again , if i leave the car for a few hours , replace the fuse i can start the car . Do you have any thoughts. This as happened twice in one week

Can you expand on the symptoms?

How long does it last when cold.

Did it work OK on test drive.

Additionally, private or trade.

Do you have a meter etc or do you intend to use a garage?

This seems to be related to the other posting "engine problem".

Blowing a 20amp fuse is a fairly serious fault especially with the ECU in circuit.

My Chim went through a phase of blowing the 20amp fuse for the fuel pump...i dont think this fuse actually goes to the ecu...maybe i am wrong.

I must have gone through 3 or 4 fuses in as many days. All i did was crimp the spade connectors together in the fuse holder so it grips the fuse tighter and i have not blown a fuse for 4 weeks.

Can you expand on the symptoms? I WLL TRY

How long does it last when cold. CAR RUNS FINE , FIRST FUSE POPED @ RUNNING TEMP. AFTER ABOUT 25 MILES .. SECOND TIME FUSE POPED AFTER AROUND FIFTY MILES @ RUNNING TEMP. THE FUSE WILL BLOW IF REPLACED STRAIGHT AWAY , LEAVE FOR AN HOUR REPLACE FUSE CAR STARTS.

Did it work OK on test drive. YES TEST DRIVE AROUND 25 MILES

Additionally, private or trade. PRIVATE , BEEN IN CAR AS DRIVER & PASSANGER BEFORE

Do you have a meter etc or do you intend to use a garage? I HAVE A METER , I HAVE CONTACTED SILVERSTONE PERFORMANCE .
