Forgive me PistonHeaders for I have sinned. I've sold by fantastic Griffith 500SE and relaced it with ………… a Honda S2000 (runs for cover!). I have my reasons for changing but will I still be welcome around these parts or have I got to get out of town.
PS. I used to be Rosso Paul but I've changed my name to reflect the change of car.
Cheers (can we still be friends?) Paul

Like I said, I needed something I could use a bit more as a daily driver. Don't really like the Boxster or the BMW thingy. The S2000 looks good (IMHO) should be well screwed together, don't see too many of them about - and call me a wus - the electric roof is the bollox plus I got the winter hardtop. Shall I go on.
It's not a TVR and I know I shall miss the Griff bigtime but life's full of compromises.
I'm still going to Back Home though!
Paul

Edited to add that I forgot to mention it goes pretty well also.

So far so good - doesn't look like I'm going to be demonised.

Angus - see you at the next Herts & Beds meet. I'll park round the corner.

I only got it on Friday and I've got to run it in so not to sure about the handling, although the test drive I had in the demonstrator seemed OK, but it was nice and dry. Apparently they made some adjustments to the suspension setup last year and have supposedly improved the handling. As regards revving the nuts off - apparently yes. They rev to 9000rpm and VTEC kicks in around 6000rpm. I've got to do the first 650miles at up to 5500 so I haven't spanked it yet.
Cheers, Paul

I may be Griffless myself. I've just posted mine for sale too. I'll be giving the S2000 serious consideration.

TVR-less.

Good choice.

www.s2ki.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=25 is an excellent community that provides a lot of very usefull info on the 'S' (like keeping an eye on the oil regularly, correct tyre pressures...loads and loads of info...)

Japan is a bloody long way!

have fun with it, i have a video somewhere of some japanese drivers (with unbelievable skill levels) powersliding it all over th place, like a ballet and it looked very controlable.
power hood does sound nice, but come on the griff roof isn't exactly difficult to remove just to store

A most excellent choice sir. I have said in the past, I would love a TVR, but most of my driving is day to day stuff (which is Snake Pass and back at least every other day ), so only want/need one car - I want it to be fun and I want it to start .

Unfortunately even though the Tiv would satisfy the first requirement, not sure about the second - it appears that the same gremlins are still appearing (sorry guys!)

Made my choice for the same reasons, much cheaper than a Boxter S and not so showey, BMW and Mercedes do not (yet?) make anything remotely sporty in this market, should start every day and be tones of fun. I love the way they sell these, "What you must do on your test drive is to take it up to 9000rpm as much as possible ". Good enough for me.

Why the hardtop - surely not a requirement!

Not essential but handy to bolt on for the winter months. Bit like having two cars - a convertible for the summer and sports saloon for the winter.

Pleased to see that most replies haven't been too disparaging (apart from paul-b and qualityscrew ) so I'll feel free to lurk around the TVR forums. Although I'm no longer an owner I still love Blackpool's torquemonsters.
Cheers, Paul
