Changing The Handbrake - 996
Discussion
Thinking of treating myself to a carbon gearshift and handbrake for Christmas for my 1998 C2 996.
How easy is it to change the handbrake?
Does this entail having to completely remove the centre console and is it a job best left to an expert?
If anyone's got a technical link to instructions on changing the handbrake this would be greatly appreciated!
Merry Xmas to all fellow Porsche PHr's :-)

Thanks for that, which covers removal of the console. However my original question, which may have been misunderstood, referred to how easy it was to change the handbrake?

when console is removed the handbrake is in your face then just remove it you'll see the bolts,if your worried about ajustment measure the lenth of the 8mm thread before you slack off the two 13mm ajusting nuts, four 10mm nuts hold down the gear stick assembly and the cables on gear linkage push up and twist to remove, quite a simple task
