Well it's that time of year again where the cold zaps whats left of a old battery! Anyway i've just removed the battery from my 94' 430 and noticed that it was on the rather small side .... a halfords '063' battery to be exact ! Is that not totaly the wrong size ?

Early Chims had the 075 battery, smaller in physical size, but still available at 630A (in Halfords as the 4yr guaranteed one). I have been looking at 072's and I haven't found one yet rated at 630A, most are around 590A. BUT, they may be measuring it differently than they used to?

Thanks to both of you !

Bob, i've just come back from halfords after purchasing the 075 battery (smaller in size than 072) and it seems to fit OK! Your right about the amp on the 072 though it was only 590 ... a bit strange ?

Anyway thanks for you help on this one !!

Update :

The battery is OK width wise but there seems to be a problem with the size in depth and I can get the from of the battery box back on.

Any ideas ??

Was the 075 smaller or bigger than your 063? Didn't quite understand your problem with the battery box.

The 063 which came out of my car was much smaller than the new 075 which just fitted and no more ! I think on my first attempt the handle of the battery was slightly raised and was catching somewhere silly Anyway it's in now clap and when I start the car is turns over a lot quicker that when I had the old battery in, even when the old one was fully charged. Can't figure out why the previous owner put such a small powered battery in though, it was only a 380A yikes
