I gona sound a bit para but with there being a lot of salt on the road i need to start washing the underside of my T350.

I dont use a pressure washer on the paint work to prevent damage but is there any trick to washing the underneath?

Are there any mechanics on the underside I should avoid washing?

Is it ok to use a pressure washer?

Cheers

It's safe to use a pressure washer - avoid the underside of the engine bay and the fuel pump under nearside rear wheelarch.

Yes, whatever you do, don't jetwash any mechanics you may have under your car!!
Best get them out from under there and let them go back to the dealer you stole them from!!
I've heard of people having there own mechanics but that is a bit extreme.

Sorry couldn't let it pass.boxedin

If that was an optional extra i'd probably go for it...

1. Go to Homebase / Argos and buy 2 x garden sprinklers

2. Place on drive

3. Connect to hose

4. Park car over sprinklers

5. Turn on

The thing with jet washers is that they are too powerful and that's why they damage car internals. At most, the sprinklers re-create the effect of water splash from driving on a wet road. Just put them on for a bit and they'll clear all the horrible salt off, without doing any damage.

Does that actually work?

Surely the sprinklers are too big to fit under the car? I'm sure my T350 is too low for that to work.

Good Idea though... far less aggressive than jet washing it.

I have got one of those simple spinning sprinklers that I occaisionally have on the lawn. I have never tried it under the car as suggested, but its only a couple of inches high, so that would do the job.
Agree that the more sofisticated sprinklers that are available might struggle to fit under.

All seems too complicated to me, just use a hosepipe gently.
