I am ready to come to England to buy a Chim in Jan/Feb.
I live in Belgium and I guess I would need to pay import tax in Belgium but not sure. Has anyone done this already and have some advice for me please.
The prices in England are much lower than in Belgium.
I guess buying in winter is best time for a nice deal.

Well, imagine the following.

You are crusing a nice small driveway and you are behind a lorry in Belgium with a RHD car. You quickly want to take over with your beautifull quick monster.

You quickly go to the left to take over, by the time you are able to look beside the lorry you are just in time to witness how another lorry coming from the other side is boring itself into the nose of your car.

Yes RHD's are a lot cheaper then LHD's but what is your life worth to you?

Cheers,

Paul

Be aware of buying a RHD Chim for use in Belgium. Yes you are right they are much cheaper. On the other hand the resale value on the continent will also be quite low. As stated, also in daily practise you will be bothered by the right hand driving. The "lorry" example is simple, but absolutely true. I could tell you all about importing into the Netherlands, but for Belgium I am not familar. Just try to find a nice example in Belgium or the Netherlands. Or just contact me. I have a beautiful 1999 LHD 450 for sale with complete history. Please refer to marktplaats.nl and search for TVR.

Take care.

RHD in France is fine for a week or two's holiday or the run down to Le Mans but it would be a pain for everyday use, especially with the driving position in TVRs being low down.
