My '99 996 is having some warranty work done at the OPC at the mo and I thought I'd enquire about replacing a scuffed and slightly stained 'Carrera 4' kick plate on the driver's side.

£300ish including labour!! It's just a piece of grey plastic FFS!! Think I'll put up with it.

Anyway - at least the Porsche Extended Warranty is more than paying for itself. Car had 3 small oil leaks (none of them RMS) - JZM had told me they weren't serious and could be left 'til next service, but I thought I'd get the OPC to fix now anyway.

Would have cost me £1,400 incl labour and VAT!

I have to admit the warranty is good for oil leaks. I have had5 fixed in total, and they would have cost me over 2k if the warranty hadn't picked the bill up. Plus you get to drive different Porkers while your car in in

...unfortunately, as I always insist on a tiptronic car - I always get the Cayenne V6. Handles O.K., but a bit gutless.

Had an '06 Boxster tip once. Bit slow!

Yes you can. As long as they use Porsche parts and you have it done to the schedule they are not allowed to invalidate the warranty. Its called block exemption or something. How much goodwill you would recieve is another matter of course....
