Great. 2 months offshore. Get back in time for X-mas with kids. Second thing wife says is "the computer is playing up" OK sort out the problem and then eventually get to use it once kids go to bed (!) OK check mail then click bookmarks in firefox only to discover that it's empty. All work, hobby, motoring astronomy etc links gone. Over 10 years worth. Empty zilch.

Anyone got any ideas how to restore them, 'cos I ain't.

MoJo.

Erm... odd...

Is it running under a different user account? Perhaps the old profile for Firefox has been corrupted.... just what did they do to fix the computer?

Look in your Documents and Settings\<username> folders it might be in Application Data\firefox if someone has created a new profile for it to use.

Or do a search (selecting hidden and system folders as well) for "bookmarks.html"

If they've been deleted, then a software data recovery App is potentially a life saver.
Have a looksee on www.versiontracker.com

This is a known bug in Firefox, it's happened to me & a couple of colleagues when upgrading to a later version.

There is some info here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Lost_bookma

Thanks for the advice folks. I got the IE favourites back but firefox bookmarks cleaned out. Always some smartass on PH though.
