- Outbound to ports 80/tcp, 443/tcp, 8080/tcp, and 6667/udp
- Outbound ICMP
- Inbound to port 8080/tcp
Possible traffic from the client on these ports (subnet / LAN peering):
- Outbound to ports 1948/udp, 1949/udp
- Inbound to port 1948/udp
Login to router, got to it's port forwarding bit.
Tell it to send port 8080 to your desktop/laptop's IP address. Do the start > run > cmd > ipconfig thingie for this.
Right, back to drinking.
I think there's some big problems with Sky Anytime (and I've told their customer support who are as mystified as I am). I was a regular user of Sky by Broadband and it worked great. Typically I downloaded films overnight in the UK onto my notebook for several days before travelling and then watched them on US internal flights (BA films back and forth over the Atlantic). When Sky Anytime was launched it looked even better in terms of content so I downloaded some films including some purchased ones and set off to America. Grrrrrr! Sky Anytime wouldn't launch unless the notebook was connected to the internet. Even when it was in the US the Anytime software sensed it was not a UK connection and wouldn't launch.
Of course, the dodgy route of going about all of this, whilst needing the port forwarding done, won't care about where in the world you are. Requiring Windows Media Player 10 (That'll be PlayForSure DRM, easily removed) and it will have a better selection of American shows, sports events and such.

unfortunately I am no pc whizz... a bit more detail on how to do this would be really appreciated. I know how to log onto the router.. what do i type and where.. some general idea of what menu to look for would probably get me started ad I could muddle my way through the rest...
cheers
