Perhaps a dim-witted question, but nevertheless. Are non-OPC Porsche traders normally prepared to sell a car subject to it passing the OPC warranty check (so that you can purchase the OPC Warranty) at the potential purchaser's expense? If all is well without significant expenditure then purchase it, if not walk away and you only lose the cost of the OPC check?

Any dealer with confidence in what they're selling will be happy with any checks you want. And who pays for them, and the subsequent warranty you may wish to take out is down to how good your negotiating skills are and how much profit's in the car for the trader you're buying off.

There's no rules about these things.

wot he said - personally i would negotiate the price of the car and they subject to an OPC check

then try and bargain that you will pay upfront but if all is well the cost comes off the pruice - after all if the car had an exteneded OPC warranty on it you would need to pay this cost or the immediate £900 for new warranty

Sorry - you edited your post after I'd written mine - so to add - you'll need some damn good negotiation skills to get the dealer to pay for the check without you being tied to the car by way of a deposit or similar. And they'll then normally want you to pay for the check, but obviously you many be able to negotiate the cost of the check and discounted off the price of the car.

You may be able to get the dealer to agree that they will pay for the check and any work that needs to be carried out to the car, and then put a OPC warranty on it for you, but you'll need to put a deposit down.

Not many will spend money on a car without having a buyer for it.
