Hi all
i have a 4.0 hc chim . and last night after putting £17 of tescos 99 Ron in the tank, that already had shell vpower in . So at the mo it’s mixed. And for some reason the idle speed has gone odd. It idles at 1200 rpm and if you turn it off leave it for a min and turn it back on. it goes up to 1800 rpm and then drops then jumps up and drops jumps. then settles. at 1200 again. is this the fuel ? or could the ECU fuse be blown ? And it keeps resetting the car! Any help would be gr8. Just seems odd that it happened after the fuel top up!
Thanks matt

What do you mean by 'it keeps resetting the car'? Do a search on Stepper Motor in this forum - it may need cleaning. It is not likely to be related to mixing different fuel types: there's nothing wrong with doing that.

on a lot of ECU's you can remove the fuse. and it will reset it . the car then takes a little time to set its self back to normal running. i have done this on my mr2 ! and a simalar thing happens !
will look at the stepper motor thanks !

Remove/clean/refit stepper motor, then unplug the ECU for about 15 mins and plug it back in. Seems to be a fairly common issue.
