GX04NLY 996 GT3 RS
Discussion
I've found a nice 996 RS for sale for £65k at Harbour cars in Chichester, and wondered if anyone on the forum knew the car?
It came from Mid Sussex Porsche, and spent a little over a year living in Horsham (owned by a guy called Nicholas.)He did about 1000 miles before he sold the car, and it was bought by a guy called Dean, living in London, 4/3/05 from Silverstone Porsche.
Dean has done 11,000 miles in that time, and had the passenger airbag de-activated.
It has a half cage fitted, and it looks lovely. Blue over white. I can't find too much wrong, but I don't want to buy a lemon.
I currently have a red GT3 mk1, which I bought in March, and I'm tempted to swap it in for the RS. ( Reached the ripe old age of 37 yesterday, and went out shopping......should never have gone to the dealership!!!!)
Any advice from anyone out there would be gratefully received.
Try posting on the www.titanic.co.uk website. You will need to register first. That's where many of the RS owners lurk/post. Airbag deactivation suggests that Dean had kids, nothing more sinisiter than that. I'm jealous, really, really jealous. It is a superb looking car but given the mileage it's almost certainly done a bit of track work(that shouldn't be a problem though).
Happy hunting.

Thanks for letting me know it's your old car. I'll contact you tomorrow for more details if that's OK as I'm about to get a bunch of dental nurses drunk, on our Christmas do!
The car looks great, but it's always good to talk to the previous owner. Thanks for getting in touch.
(I'm new at this assing station thing, so I have no idea how to PM you, but I'll try to work it out tomorrow after a few nurofen!)

Sorry to be a wet blanket, but is it worth getting a 996 GT3 RS at £65k when a new 997 GT3 is £79k or less if you buy it LHD which is arguably better? Reply when you get a chance. I know you're busy.
So call it 85 with options for the new non RS version. 20k is a fair whack and the old car is probably more focussed.
