Hi,

ECU Re-Mapping

Does anyone know if this can be done in the UK and by whom?

If so does anyone know of any 3200GT's that have had this done?

Thanks
Jules.

Jules, I believe PH'er "Mr_Tony" looked at a load of tuning options for the Maser, for the life of me I cant find the thread, will try and find it...

I still reckon it'll struggle to get into the elevens though.

This is the closest I can find, though im sure he also discussed some higher numbers than that before on here... worth an email?? Met him at Vmax a few times (been in his old Maser at 160mph too IIRC), friendly bloke, im sure he wont mind.

Cheers Ben you're a star,

If (IF) I buy a Maser then I will probably look into engine mapping, I have a few UK options that I have yet to explore but just wanted to get a feel of what other 3200GT owners have experienced, obviously with the response it appears to be very, very limited.

A professional remap will certainly help the car from a performance and from a fueling etc set-up perspective (unless the Maser is incredibly well mapped already - which I doubt), this may result in upgrading a few items along the way but that is part and parcel (learning what the restricting factors / components are). With a remap it wouldn't do 11's, but it may dip into the mid 12's, which would be good.

Next Stage would be turbos, turbo downpipes, induction, exhaust / cats, coolers, etc etc, this would release true 500bhp potential and turn it into a monster, but handling would be seriously compromised as would the truth ethic of the car, it's a GT and as such it should remain that way, albeit with the odd enhancement here and there, but if memories of the Cerb come flooding back, of which i am sure they will, then I may have no choice but to discover the cars true potential

Jules.

ps, it's good to see you and Seasider (he of the slow TVR but fast Grifflaugh.....)over here.

I've always been over here... just not as active as the Cerb forum as I dont (yet) own a rarri/maser/lambo/bug. I have an unfortunate lust for something Italian and expensive... so yeah, im stuck for life. If the Cerb doesnt bankrupt me, the future Murci probably will. hehe

Keep us updated on your plans!!
