I would like your opinion on those two manufacturer and their ECU.

The engine those ecu might be connecto too is an EU2 VVC on roller barrels, with MAP sensor and wideband lambda sensor.

For the last 6 month DTA has been making an ECU which can control the VVC mechanism, the S60
Emerald has been making one for the last year also.

What is the general opinion about DTA's ECU? How does it compared to the Emerald?

Please discuss

Thank you very much

Jack

When buying an ECU you don't want the manufacturer to use your car as a test bed - you've got enough else to be thinking about without their testing on top. Ask how many VVC engines have been mapped and are now running with each ECU. Go to see one, ask who the owners are, are there any write ups in mags or on the web ?

Might be worth asking on the MGF forums.

I would imagine that for someone like you the obvious choice will be the emerald .. especially when you compare the specs of both units you have mentioned they're so similar on many points as to not matter and the emerald is better in some respects ..but also the clincher must be that the emerald guys have so much knowledge of tuning your engines types that their support and knowledge base will be second to none.

I've been recently using the latest firmware and software releases in the emeralds and it's stunning. Check out the flyer in this months PPC magazine for the full low-down on their latest kit.

If you want to pm me about my experience of dta mapping in the past please do.
