getting a bit fustrated this morning, I have recently fitted new camshaft and top end, and on firing up the griff it seems to be running smoothish, but only on 6 cylinders, I say smoothish because I would have expected it to be very lumpy if only firing on 6.
the left hand bank 1,3,5,7 seem okay all manifolds hot, but on the right hand bank 8 and 4 manifolds are cooler, no8 plug is clean and smells of petrol, and no 4 is black, which I think tells me it is firing, but the exhaust manifold on 4 is not as hot as say 2 and 6.
plus it does let off a few loud bangs out of the exhaust now and again.
on testing the plugs, there is a spark on 8 and 4, I have new ht leads, dizzy cap rotor arm and plugs
I keep thinking that this could be because I have got the cam 180 degrees out, but I was so meticulous over this that I feel that is not the case, but thats not to say its not right!would it fire up so easy and run so well if it was 180 out?
I keep thinking that this is an ignition problem, but after swapping over leads, plugs and plug caps no difference is made.
any suggestions appreciated before I pull out what hair I have left!
