It's been a good one, guys. Haven't been here long, but have enjoyed myself enough that I'll be around a while yet. It's been a difficult year, and this place has lifted my spirits immeasurably on more than one occasion. For that I thank you. Well... I thank yeow, as is customary to say here. In case I'm not around to accept it personally, I nominate WetWipe to collect my "annoying c*nt" award should I win it. I haven't been told if there's a cash prize - I doubt it, as nervy has already had to sell his GT3 to finance the ceremony. I'm hoping he still has a few T-Shirts from the Cayenne/M25 thread - though the jury's still out on whether they say 'CPU 1' or 'c*nt'. Hardly matters - I'd wear either with pride.

In lieu of an acceptance speech for the award in the aforementioned category, I've composed a small poem for you guys. See y'all next year.

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the forum
Not a creature was stirring, to disturb the decorum
The threads were all empty, with no comment to hear,
Though if you mention tt; I think kayc would appear...

Posters, no longer with PH in their noggins,
Turned off their PCs, and shut off their log-ins,
Whilst wishing each other goodwill and good cheer,
And promising to meet up at the ‘Ring soon next year .

It’s been a year of great sport, with much lively chatter.
Some great debate – none likely to matter.
Not counting Tiptronic – it’s been decided that’s shite,
Despite comments from Soovy, that it’s actually alright.

We’ve had fights and disputes, shared some special occasions,
Closed up our ranks and made forum invasions.
All are welcome to join, though you’d better have wit, friend,
To be slow here’s to be considered a Weapons Grade Cock-End.

We’ve all manner of owners, some lively and quick,
In Porks-sleds of all description – some standard, some trick.
None more rapid or speedy than the forum’s own Veyron-
Yes - kayc’s tt……. which he never shuts up on.

As new owners breeze in, some old hands have left.
Both Nervy and Torchy were made lately bereft.
A tragic affair, as there is nothing baser,
Than to be without a Stuttgart, ass-engined, slot-racer.

But there’s always next year, and new fortunes it may bring,
Further chances to own, a flat-6 engined thing.
Just make sure it’s manual, sporty and pure,
Or I’ll have to nuke it from space – it’s the only way to be sure.

So with that I leave you, and spring to my sleigh,
It’s a Mini GP, so’s gayer than Christmas, they say.
I look forward to rejoining the fracas next year,
And wish you guys the best of all holiday cheer.

And so the best was left to last! Post of the year that and sentiments shared!

We'll see out this year soon and welcome a new one, which will bring lots of things to us all, some fortunate, some planned, some not so.

And we'll see more of the same in the wider world context too. And in that sense, I hope we see some of what was so perfectly put by St Francis of Assisi:

“Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light."

Ajit.
