Hi again guys

You've all been so helpful with my gfx card update this week thanks alot. I have one last queston that I hope the PH massive can help with.

As you know I have a Pioneer 435 FDE in the front room connected to my ASUS/nVidea N7600gs via DVI/HDMI which is in the study. In the study I have a Samsung SyncMaster connected to the same card via VGA.

Now, these 2 screens have different resolutions and as the whole idea is to view a high def picture on the Pioneer I want to run both screens at their optimum res. The only way I can see to do this is to select the Dual View setting on the nVidea control panel. The problem here though, is that I cannot see the same desktop as I can in the study, so front room web surfing / photo viewing is impossible.

If I select Clone View I can see the same desktop but I must run both screens at the same res which for reasons explained above is far from ideal.

How, can I view the full desktop on both screens in their optimum res? Basically I want to do exactly the same in the front room on the PC as I do in the Study.

Does nVidea have a setting or a way to do this, or should I put my old video card back in and run the Pioneer high def plasma of the 7600 and the Samsung VGA monitor of the old 5500?

Thanks again

Pete

Sounds like Dual View is basically extending the desktop - all you'd need to do is drag the App into whichever monitor you want to view it on.
Clone does as the name suggests - mirroring the display on both monitors.
You can't achieve what you want since both monitors are of differing native resolutions.

thanks, yes that's what I thought.

I was wondering though if there was a way though that I could see both desktops using dual view, rather than having to slide apps over to the other screen as it means I keep on having to go between the study and living room to open anything new?
