Replacing Battery alarm Problems
Discussion
I have just replaced the battery on my 1994 4.0hc chimaera but the alarm seems to be playing up, the car starts fine but the alarm is going off not very loud, i have tried arming and disarming but its still going off so i have disconected the battery again and the alrm has stoped the alarm is a falcon preditor any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
This moring i reconnected the battery the alarm is still on so i phoned falcon alarms they said i should turn the ignition on and off 4 times and this would reset the alarm, now everything is dead the fuel is cut off the alarm is sounding so i have dissconected the battery anybody know a good alarm specialist in the bristol area cheers rob.
I had a not too dissimilar problem with my Griff after a flat battery was changed. The petrol pump primed but the starter motor would not turn over. The rescue guys said that after the battery had failed the immobiliser went in to some kind of 'spasm' where not even the reset button would work. By 'jumping' the starter motor (rather than the battery), he said this sent a signal back to the immobiliser circuit and cleared it. I find it hard to believe but he had done it before and it worked on my car! Maybe try this?
