Am I going mental or s this a sideeffect of something else / deliberate?

Any post reply textarea box (like this one) automatically has a blank line entered before you start typing. Ie, click in it and the cursor is one line lower than the start of the box

Logical really, more blank lines means more pages get used for the same number of words posted. More pages, more ads, more ads, more money. Am guessing Ted spent large at Christmas and will run this "feature" for a few months to recoup.

You will note I have deleted my extra line as a mark of my disaproval, I am having no part to play in this most grotesque of marketing tactics.

Now, where shall I put my wink smilie to save me from the sinbin....just here I think

I think you'll find it's the number of posts that determine when the page break occurs

Ok smartarse, there does indeed seem to be some correlation between 20 posts and page changes, but I am not giving up here. There HAS to be money to be made from this extra line and I am going to get to the bottom of it if it's the last thing I do goddamnit.

For the life of me I can't find a suitable "conspiracy theory" smilie, but safe to say, you'll all see when the truth comes out. When Ted sells off this site to some young Russian on overinflated revenue figures (retaining the actual webspace and renting it back to him at a huge cost of course), then my friends, then you will see his true colours.
