Sagaris arrives at last
Discussion
Well the Tvr Sagaris has touched down on Irish shores. At long last and after countless struggles to get it into Ireland. As far as i'm aware it will be the first Sagaris to be on Irish plates (correct me if i'm wrong). I originally had one ordered from the factory. But unfortunatly the factory messed me around. It was supposed to be ready in Decemeber but between them 'closing' then 'moving' then 'staying' in blackpool. Then 'closing' again. Then 'relocating' to Italy. Then this, then that, you get my drift. Anyway long story short they wouldn't sign a contract to ensure delivery in Jan 2007 so we cancelled the order and i had to leave my half built baby on the abandoned factory floor.
But from the ashes of that disaster i located the closest i could get to my dream Sagaris. I found a beautiful Reflex Purple Sagaris with basically the exact interior i had originally specced on a dealers forecourt with only delivery mileage. It was obviously meant to be. Since then we have found out that Tvr's are not actually allowed into Ireland new (notice the factory never told us this when we placed our order for a brand new one, even though they knew this all along). Long story short it will be registered in the uk in Jan 2007 and then re-registered for the irish soil
It arrived in Ireland a few day's ago and it is the best early Christmas present anyone could wish for. I had the pleasure of driving it for a while and i cannot describe the feeling and what an amazing car it is. It's like driving a spaceship
I cannont stop smiling and won't for a long time to come now that i have such an iconic sports car in my garage. Many thanks to all those who helped in the last few months. Here's some of the pictures:

Ah now - what a cans of worms to be sure, to be sure!
What ever way you look at The Emerald Isle - The Island of Ireland, the North and South of Ireland, the Republic, The Free State, Eire, the turdy-two counties and all that - only Big Ian might support your claim to be the first in Ireland, Gerry and Martin most definitely wouldn't IMO.
Might see it in Scotland in March.

I have no doubt there is a few in the north as i've spoken with at least one. I'm unsure of who exactly your talking about in your post
But all i was saying was i was thinking it may poissibly be the first Sagaris on Republic plates. And believe me there's a differance. As much as it would be great if there wasn't you have no idea the heartache i had trying to get them on Irish plates, in fact it is imporssible to do as new. I would have loved to keep it on uk plates, in fact it would have saved me 30,000 euros vrt! But unfortunatly that's not possible for me. Therefore i was just trying to find out if it was indeed the first officially registered Sagaris on the Republic's roads

Oh it's painful being a TVR fan in the Republic.
I could have sworn you said 'Irish' but it must have been 'Republic' - it's the Irish/Italian translation on my PC.
It was probably Gary you were speaking to in Norn Iron. Email me if you want his contact details.
Say Hi to Jerry and the other TVRCC members.

Yes indeed it is painful, but well, well worth it
Amazing car, i've never sat in anything quite like it! I did say 'Irish' plates, i guess i'm so used to saying it, as i would say northern plates for the North. Sorry about the confusion
I spoke with Gary a hell of alot as we swapped speccing ideas and talked about anything and everything you could do with the Sagaris, but that poor spec got lost at the factory
I know Jerry too, but i've yet to make the irish meets despite my best intentions. Hopefully i will make them before the Celtic Gathering, if not though that will be a real treat being the first place to meet with everyone. I'm excited already, plus she should be totally run in and have a fair few miles on her by then. Edited by funky on Sunday 24th December 13:38

Hi Funky
What a great colour combo. Look forward to seeing you in March at the Celtic Gathering. We're arranging to meet all the Irish folk off the ferry for a run through to North Berwick. There's about 40 cars coming at the moment (including another couple of Sagaris to keep you company). I think this will be a record for Scotland. Should be a great weekend.
