964 3.6 Turbo 2 Prices.
Discussion
Can anyone give please me an idea of the value of a RHD, Slate Grey 1993 Turbo 2 3.6, 79K miles, full leather, full Porsche and specialist service history, original speedlines and its bog standard.
No pictures at the moment however the general condition of the car is rated between 8-9 on the OMG scale.
I know these cars are rare and so far have only been identify 1 for sale in Europe and its POA - so none the wiser.
I understand that cars are only worth what people are prepared to pay for them but a clue would be usefulbefore I make an offer.
Merry Xmas Andy

£34K sounds a little toppy unless its pristine and lowish miles. I would agree that you get 99% of the car at a big discount by buying the 3.3 but also that the 3.6 is likely to depreciate slower (unless you pay too much for it in the first place!) More importantly there are more (but not lots) of 3.3's around so you are better able to find good one and be able to negotiate the price. Either one is a great car

Cheapest I've seen sold, as opposed to advertised, in last 18 months was £27k (grey, highish miles, repainted);most expensive £38k (immaculate - black, full history, low miles, totally original) ..... and both from specialist dealers.
Bottom line is that they are considered collectable ( rightly so ), so tend to go for what someone is prepared to pay - but remember that collectors tend to want all those attributes exhibited by the black car.
The new owner of the grey car had put it on display on a dealers stand at TIPEC national event in July 2005, but got so nervous about the "cash offers" being made to the dealer that he removed it to somewhere less noticeable!!

I agree, 34K does sound high to me. I know of two 3.6 T's that were retailed through Gmund cars last year. I Black car with approx 13K went for £42 ish and a Silver car with 38K miles was up at £38,995. See their web site for details
