Should I swap my 996 3.6 for a Cayman S?.
Discussion
Giving serious thought to swapping my 2002 3.6 Carrera for a cayman S, has anyone done this and what do you think?, any regrets?.
Want to come up a few years, my local OPC has a demo on their website in Guards red (just love that colour!), may give them a call and see what they will offer me for mine.
Ideally would like to have a 997 but i just cannot stretch to one at the moment, searched through the used car locator last night and the choice in gurads red produced just one car!, does nobody else like this colour?.
My concern is that I may regret not waiting for a 997, they are unique which is part of the appeal.

Have driven one, my father bought one earlier in the year-was running in so could'nt push it but it did feel more "neutral" if I can use that phrase to describe the handling. My 996 does feel lively on a poor road surface at speed.
Will have to try one and give it a more extended road test.

I think the Cayman feels claustrophobic after the 996/7.
I agree with you there. After having a 997 for a while I thought it was much more spacious! Mind you, this isn't necessarily bad. Back in the Cayman, it felt more like a tighter, smaller, fun car with the 911 being it's grown up big brother. isuk said:
