Can anybody recomend a supplier of knock sensors in the UK that will fit the bolt holes in the chevy head. The standard Bosch units are too small. I have Delphi do aknock sensor with a 10mm hole but doubt I will get it in the UK

Thanks

Is it not possible to make an adapter to fit the Bosch sensor into the Chevy head Guy?

Is that the best location, I thought they went in the drain plugs on the sides of the block. Also you will need ones that responds correctly otherwise you will get false readings etc.

The best location is a totally flat head (machined) and perfectly aligned and torqued. The head is best for this but turning down a bolt may not give a perfect fit. I will test the units before using them (megasquirt and link knock sensor as used by the rice burners) so should be ok once calibrated. Just need a 10mm hole!

I purchased a case of Delphi knock sensors (80 pieces). Box reads Part # 393203C00, Delphi # 25363737-11, Serial # AG5818536113. I can not get any of the numbers to match up on the Delco site, but the unit they have listed (flat response knock sensor)matches this one. It measures about 28" long and they advertise it as having a 10mm mounting hole. I measured the hole and it looks more like a 8mm hole instead. It has a oval, two wire plug marked a and b. Thanks, Larry

Folks,

Did anyone get to fit a knock sensor successfully in the end ? If so what make and where exactly ? Also can you tell me what gauges (if any) you have used for knock monitoring ?

Cant say that Ive had much luck with knock sensors, mine is currently bolted to the side of the block using a boris knocksense, franky its useless.

Damn.
Was hoping you would turn up and say it works perfectly with Megasquirt then I could copy yours.

I though that knock was limited to a certain frequency range? If so, any knock sensor should do if it fits.

Rover sensors have a hole in them, don't know if that helps. I can measure one.
