Right.Ive made my mind up, after missing some pics on the last occasion with my Fuji S5500 due to terminal shutter lag, Ive decided its got to go, and that Im going to get the DSLR I should have bought last time.

Had a quick rummage round and quite like the look of this

www.digitalrev.com/en/product_details.php?item_id=769&category_id=1

Did a search on here, and it appears to be quite regarded, just wanted your opinions on the camera, the shop in question, and wether Ive amade a glaring omission in my research.

Also, what would be a good motorsport telephoto ? Ive been using 80-210mm with 35mm, but I believe sizes are different on digi.

TIA

Tis a great camera (for that price a snip)... 70-300 ED is a great lens for motorsport (used to be over £300, so probably half that now)

I have a Sigma 70-300 APO for my D50 and I'm pleased with it so far. Only used it once for motorsport so far though. I don't know if you already have, but I'd recommend you take a look here as the prices seem to be slightly lower from the few comparisons I've made.

Any excuse to post this pichehe

Llangollen canal in September, good photo opportunities hated the holiday. Wife said she should have realised that me travelling at 4 mph for a week was never going to work!!!

Sorry, not got into the DSLRs yet still messing with the Sony W15 or my old Pentax SLRs ME Super and S2 but am quite taken with the D70. The C-n-n seems a bit too ubiquitous and might I say agricultural!

D70S supposed to be quality kit, mate has a D70 (non-S) and really rates it. And they've come down in price too!

Depending on if you like the Nikon interfaces and 'feel' or not, the obvious Canon alternatives are:-
- 350D - more MPixels (8 / 8.?...but don't really need them if you've the right lenses, so long as you're not planning any prints A4 or bigger), smaller/lighter body (may or may not suit), doesn't feel quite as well built and IIRC not quite as many options (although still loads for an SLR amateur)
- 20D (2nd hand only) - similar MPixels to 350D but different (better?) sensor, plus larger body (I find easier to hold/use), more solid build, and a few more options/toys. I went for this one out of the 3 as I'm used to Canons and I preferred the feel to the 350D.
