XBox 360 - which bundle?
Discussion
The missus has suggested I might like an '360, so I am looking at bundles. I was thinking that the Family entertainment bundle (PGR, Arcade offline, extra wireless controller) for £269 at play looks like a pretty good deal. Is there better out there?
I am thinking that the VGA cable and the charge and play kit are the two essential accessories. Is that right?
Cheers

VGA only needed if you've a PC monitior only to hook it up to. Otherwise the HD component lead is a much better option.
Remember VGA only does video, so you'll need audio capabilities as well. The HD kit does both, A&V.
Also, get the Premium - the HDD is a necessity to save games and download various content to.
It's really not worth scrimping on in the long run.
Get yourself a bundle with the latest games (GOW/R6LV) as the likes of PGR/etc can be had used/new for stupid money from Amazon/Play/Game/eBay/AVForums/here as they're now Classic status.

Surely your LCD TV should have RGB component input?
What make and model is it?
More importantly is it 1366x768 resolution?
VGA can produce a washed out look since most VGA inputs on TVs aren't setup for video levels but PC.
Unless your TV has a separate colour balance for VGA, then you'll end up faffing around with the balance every time you to and fro gaming and watching TV.

I had the core pack and ended up buying HDD, wireless, headset, & vga cable. so well worth getting the premium pack.
I brought the vga cable from GAME, as my LCD TV (8 months old) only has vga / dvi-d input, so no hd component input. it had the VGA lead and red & black audio leads & fibre optic output in the plug. so no worries about sound.
Try Gamestation, they have good deals on a weekend, though I guess most outlets will be trying to shift unsold Christmas stock.
I got Premium with arcade live and extra wireless controller PGR3 and any game up to £50 for £199.
If you like driving game and would consider buying the force feedback steering wheel then dont buy PGR3. It is bundled with the FF Steering wheel.
You can also downlaod an update from Microsoft to enable your X360 to play SOME of the old eggbox games. These are now chicken feed pre-owned.
The FF steering wheel works well with PGR3 and Test Drive Unlimited, but feels a bit vague with Need For Speed Carbon (it has no adjustment for steering sensitivity)

Did you have to haggle for that deal or was it advertised? Which branch etc?
Want to get the same deal but only seen it at £279
