Help to choose a Tuscan !

Which Tuscan ?
Hi Guys, potential tuscan newbie here. I am thinking of changing my 4.0 Chimaera for a Tuscan. I am looking at two at the moment, the chianti starmist 2000 S in the classifieds at £19995 which has had a top end rebuild in 2002 and 13000 on the clock. she looks immaculate. Did a top end rebuild sort out the rebuild needs of the speed six. I have read that many needed engine rebuilds but am not sure if they were top or bottom ends or both. What else do i need to be looking for or thinking/worrying about. The other car is a 2000 pearl blue tuscan, not an S but with a brand new engine fitted which needs to be run in. It only has 16 inch alloys but that can easily be changed. It's being sold by Racing Green and at £18950 looks a good buy, however a waranty is not included in this price but is available. I have been hankering for a tuscan even before buying the Chimaera three years ago, i've got to have one but need to be sensible. I can only go up to £20000 which includes my 1998 S Chimaera as part-ex, leaving me a few grand in the bank for niggles etc. I would be very grateful for any advice, thanks, Mike.

Of the two, the new engine car sounds better. A 2002 top end rebuild will not offer the same level of component quality as a 2005/6 new engine. Ultimately it's your choice. I bought mine because of the colour then had all the mechanicals changed, so who am I to offer advice.
There are flaws to the Sp6 design which are more exposed in earlier cars. Seeing as you're allowing in your budget for niggles, not rebuilds - go for the new engine IMO.

TVR didn't sell Tuscan Ss in 2000/2001 - the Red Rose was the improved option then.

Correct, and this: www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/90012.htm is not an S - the rear lights are in the wrong place, although it does have an S spoiler fitted.Ricardo
You need to be able to copy and paste the 'url' from the advert. You'll find the 'url' in the address bar at the top of the page. (http : //www. etc etc)
Using your mouse: left click = left button, right click = right button.
1) Left click on the text that you want to copy until it is highlighted in blue.
2) Whilst keeping your cursor over the highlighted text, right click then left click on 'copy'.
The text that you want to copy is now stored in your pc's clipboard.
3) Select the place where you want to insert the text (advert url in this case) by a left click in the appropriate place.
4) Now right click then left click on 'paste'
Job done.
ps. You can have more than one internet explorer window open at the same time, just click on your internet button again. You can therefore be viewing the Pistonheads ads and the Pistonheads forums at the same time. Select the appropriate window by clicking on it at the bottom of your screen.
