Recommendation for free email account

I need to be able to publish an email address and don't want to use any of the ones on my domain so I thought I'd set up a new account.

There seem to be some many options now? Yahoo? GMail? I'd be grateful for any thoughts and recommendations.

gMail is the way to go. There's some discussions on here about which is best (there was a thread a few weeks ago). And gMail seemed to be the one (which I have to personally agree with).

If you want a gMail invite, then send me your [normal] email address via my profile.
