1987/350i s2 cam change

hello all,

when taking out the cam shaft on a 350i do you have to tilt the engine or do you have to take the engine out.

any tips i can pass on to the machanic that is going to do the job for me this week would been much appreciated

I changed mine by raising the engine a couple of inches on a jack. From memory I only had to remove the engine mounts.

I would be interested to know how the conversion goes. What cam and what results you get. Are you going to use standard lifters, cam chains or gears etc etc.

got to see the cam today and it was in a mess the lobes were worn down badly and the followers had deep dish marks on what should be a nice flat surface,

I think it goes to show what a forgivable engine these rover v8's are,
when it is back together it will fill like i have had an extra cylinder added to it

(well maybe that is hoping a bit but it should go a bit better then it did)
