Heard of these?

I need a new lid, and in normal circumstances I would hold on for the MCN show at end of January - but I will be on holiday this year, so can't make it. So I have been looking on-line whilst at work today and come across this web-site www.helmetcity.co.uk/index.html - have any of you heard of them? used them?

I suppose due to the recent articles about stickers being bought etc. in some magazines, I am being correctly cautious - but their prices are phenomenally cheap compared to the same lids elsewhere.

What do you think?

I bought an Arai RX7 from an on-line crowd £160 off the going price at the time. Turned out to be one of those with the label cut out - i.e. no CE mark. It was the worst one I've had (and I've had a few). Could have been just a coincidence, but I bought a replacement at Ally Pally last year for the same price with some freebie stuff chucked in. No problem with that one (same model etc.)

Just thought I would let you guys know that I decided to take the risk and purchase from this crowd. Very glad that I did!

E-mailed them with loads of questions about the helmet, is it legal? How comes they can sell so cheap? etc etc. Some fella phoned me back and explained that most of the helmets that they buy are last seasons designs, so they get offered them in bulk at a much lower price.

I went for the Shoei Rutter 2, that I saw in my local bike shop for £350 at weekend, and have just paid £199 (+ £10 delivery). The guy actually took my payment over phone and let me have it including p&p for £205.

He explained that all Shoei lids he buys are purchased from Feridax, and are there old stock. I have checked it over, it has ACU sticker on, Feridax distribution sticker, production date etc etc. Came with Pinlock, in a Shoei box, with Shoei registration etc,

It all looks completely kosher to me - and I am well pleased.

Would definitely recommend to others on here.
