Urgent Help pls pls pls

I have a problem that I cant solve -

Switched on pc like normal (running XP pro on Dell machine) opened outlook and recieved and read 3 in inbox deleted all junk without opening. Tried to reply to email and got the box 'starting outlook as your email editor' then nothing. Waited few moments and then ended programme in task manager. Clicked start - turn off - restart to re boot system. nothing happens so i tried to switch off again nothing.

have run spyware doc / registery mechanic / privacy guardian/ ad aware se still cant shut down. Tried to restore from a previous date and also re installing office and still cant get outlook to work or pc to shut down.

My office is a proper disc and I havent been looking at anything to dodgy on the net so can anybody pls help me!!!

Hold the on button in for 10-15 seconds - that should shut your machine down.

Thanks C2 I have tried that and when the machine re starts it still hasnt re booted properly???

Have you tried safe mode? Keep hitting F8 during the boot process and you should enter a windows setup screen and allowed to choose Safe Mode.

This will allow you to run some checks, and try to reboot within this mode.
