I-Tunes Frustration
Discussion
I have converted all my WMA files to MP3 so I-tunes can recognise them and load them on to my i-pod
Problem is, it seems to have "disorganised" them now and some of the compilation Cd's don't appear in I-tunes as an album, but single tracks. When I look in the directory using explorer - they are all together in the original folders.
This is a pain with 12,000 tracks and 400 odd albums
Can anyone shed a light of hope on this?

It's because the 'album' field in the tag is not populated with the correct name - iTunes doesn't care what folder it is in, just what the tag tells it!
I had a similar problem with 60,000 tracks I converted painstakingly from CD/DAT/MiniDisk/etc after iTunes ate my Library file.
I had to add each album in one by one to ensure I could name the album correctly - didn't take 'that' long, but wouldn't want to do it every weekend.

thats gonna be a right pain to fix.
id suggest deleting everything out of itunes, then adding an album 1 by 1 and mass changing the album info for each set.

It really is rather good.
MusicBrainz tagger is a handy bit of software that I use. Worth a look.
