Fuel Regulator

I must have one of the most erratic regulators around, it will not hold 6.5lbs fuel pressure it will go from 7lbs at start up to to under 5lbs in about 40secs. I adjust it back to 6.5lb but it starts dropping 30secs later. Am I missing a bigger picture here, could it be something else? I'm running a Holley Blue Top fuel pump from both tanks into this regulator and then into a Speed Demon carb.
Can anyone recommend a quiet, reliable regulator?

I had the same problem with my Holley regulators... I went through 3.

The only reason I new they were erratic was that like you I fitted an inline pressure guage, there seemed no rhyme or reason to the changes in pressure.
