I have to say that that looks stunning, well done. How long have you spent on the project so far, the 6R4 is one of the few cars that I would sell my Caterham for.

they are bilsteins and escort RS TURBO/mk3/4 as for whats been spent i reckon between me and the last owner approx 25-30k

I really like 'replica' 6R4s.

I'm confident that to build a 4WD 'replica' with a V6 in, it would be best to just start with a 6R4..LOL!

But the 2WD with a modern, probably turbocharged, engine is a much more reasonable route to go down.

I believe ARG were right to go N/A, when they built it to compete, but the running costs (largely due to scarcity of bits) are now too big.

The competitive cars out there are costing a fortune.

the originals are a bit fragile imho but they sound fantastic

The problem is that they have become fragile as they have been tuned so highly in this fight against old WRC cars.

But with a competitive 2.5 V64V costing upwards of £20k....

you can't beat a YB cosworth for reliabilty and bhp and parts aplenty and very tunable

Yep, the crash was a big surprise, but Dad's back to normal now, except for his back, the moaning old bugger never shuts up about it!

Here's a good motivator - I doubt there are more than a handful of people in the country that would continue to do the job with such attention to detail - can you imagine the heartbreak of letting such a stunning effort go to someone who would bodge the remaining work up and making it a complete shed?!?!

Keep going, this car needs to be finished in the manner it's been done to date.
